BASIC FEATURES
The basic payment account (BPA) is opened in MKD.
A user who has not opened another MKD payment account in Stopanska Banka AD – Skopje or in another bank, savings bank and branch of a foreign bank in the Republic of North Macedonia is eligible for opening BPA.
The BPA user may not use allowed overdraft on the basic payment account.
OPENING A BASIC PAYMENT ACCOUNT
BPA is opened upon the User’s request.
The User, eligible for BPA in accordance with the legally determined criteria, may:
- open a new MKD basic payment account (BPA), or
- transform an existing MKD account into a basic payment account.
Opening a new BPA or transforming an existing payment account into a BPA is carried out in the Bank's branches, at the request of the User, whereby the User has to obligatory sign a Statement confirming that he / she does not own another MKD payment account in the country.
The bank will respond to the User, within 10 working days, whether the request for opening a basic payment account has been approved.
The request can be approved after checking that the User does not have a basic payment account in the Bank or in another bank in RNM.
Any payment account, at the request of the User, if he / she fulfills the conditions provided by law, can be transformed into a basic payment account and conversely, a basic payment account, at the request of the User can be transformed into a payment account, while retaining the existing unique identifier of the payment account.
PAYMENT SERVICES WITH BPA
The basic payment account allows the following payment services:
- opening, maintaining and closing the payment account;
- payment of funds and withdrawal of cash from the payment account at the counters in the Bank where the account is opened and / or through a network of ATMs during or outside working hours;
- payment transactions with a payment card, including online payment; and
- credit transfers, including standing orders.
FEES AND COMMISSIONS FOR BASIC PAYMENT ACCOUNT
The monthly fee for maintaining a basic payment account may not exceed 0.1% of the monthly moving average net salary paid in the country for the previous 12 months published by the State Statistical Office.
BPA allows the following payment transactions, under the following fees:
- five free cashless internal transactions between accounts within the bank (transactions at the counter, via digital channels or through a standing order). Other payment transactions, including: transactions that exceed the minimum number of internal cashless payment transactions (over 5 transactions) and transactions initiated to other payment service providers (other banks) are charged according to the regular tariff of fees.
- no compensation for the execution of an unlimited number of cash deposits or cash withdrawals from the payment account, at counters in the workspaces or through the ATM network of the payment service provider.
- The initial issuance and renewal of the debit card is charged according to the regular tariff of fees. The insight and disposal of the funds via debit card is free of charge (no annual membership fee is charged).
- no compensation for activity through digital channels (internet and/or mobile app)
BPA for Beneficiaries of Legal Rights
BASIC FEATURES
The basic payment account (BPA) for beneficiaries of legal rights is opened in MKD.
The following users are eligible for opening a BPA:
- who have not opened another MKD payment account in Stopanska Banka AD – Skopje or in another bank, savings bank and branch of a foreign bank in the Republic of North Macedonia.
- Who benefits from one of the following determined bases for legal rights:
- legal alimony, compensation for damage caused due to health impairment or reduction, i.e. loss of working ability and compensation for loss of alimony due to the death of the alimony provider;
- compensation due to physical damage according to the regulations on disability insurance;
- supplementary social welfare allowance;
- temporary unemployment;
- child benefit; and
- scholarship, loan, pupil and student aid.
The BPA beneficiary may not use allowed overdraft on the basic payment account.
OPENING A BASIC PAYMENT ACCOUNT
BPA is opened upon the User’s request.
The User, eligible for BPA in accordance with the legally determined criteria, may:
- open a new MKD basic payment account, or
- transform an existing MKD account into a basic payment account.
Opening a new BPA or transforming an existing payment account into a BPA for beneficiaries of legal rights is carried out in the Bank's branches, at the request of the User, whereby the User has to obligatory:
- sign a Statement confirming that he / she does not own another MKD payment account in the country.
- submit a Decision, dated no more than 6 months earlier, for the use of a legal right by the competent institution (Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Education and Science, etc.), in order to determine the basis for the use of the legal right.
The bank will respond to the User, within 10 working days, whether the request for opening a basic payment account for users of social rights has been approved.
The request can be approved after checking that the User does not have a basic payment account in the Bank or in another bank in RNM.
Any payment account, at the request of the User, if he / she fulfills the conditions provided by law, can be transformed into a basic payment account and conversely, and a basic payment account, at the request of the User, can be transformed into a payment account, while retaining the existing unique identifier of the payment account.
At least once a year, the Bank will reassess the basis of the users of a basic payment account, for which the user will have to prove his / her right by submitting an appropriate document.

According to the laws and regulations, a basic payment account for beneficiaries of legal rights is exempt from the monthly management fee.
